Director, Commercial Business Development M/F


Position Overview

  • Key member of the US Commercial team with a primary focus on generating revenue for Lagardère Sports’ US core capabilities: brand consulting and activation; live event production and experiential marketing, and content development
  • Work closely with the Lagardère US business units as needed to develop solutions for clients that might include, but is not limited to brands, teams, leagues, and media properties
  • Work closely with the Lagardère global sales network
  • Work closely with Lagardère subject matter experts such as data and insights, creative, content production, and digital teams to develop revenue generating solutions
  • Conduct smart, proactive, strategic outreach to prospects
  • Build and present sales and business development proposals to clients and prospects
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospects with consistent outreach
  • Manage internal sales processes
  • Monitor all relevant media and trade journals to identify new business sector opportunities
  • Working with internal business leaders to ensure deadlines are met, and the best work product is presented
  • Work with internal CRM team to manage reporting
  • Work with internal stakeholders to drive thought leadership and marketing programs in the sports agency space


Qualifications and Skills

  • 6-8+ years of sales and business development experience, with a focus on selling sports agency services
  • Must have a proven track record of generating revenue with positive results, ideally on behalf of an agency
  • Experience working on global projects is preferred
  • Must be solution and results oriented
  • Team player who is aggressive, will take initiative, and lead
  • Must have experience in sports, entertainment, and/or lifestyle sectors
  • Possess a strong understanding of brand consulting, experiential marketing, media and content development
  • Domestic and some international travel may be required for this role
  • Must have strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Deadline driven, organized, and able to multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, sales CRM, and Apple programs (e.g., Keynote)
